tinfoil

The "tinfoil" series was created within a Bachelor of Communication Design studio known as "Mutate+Multiply. The studio delves into the world of printed materials such as periodicals, zines, and more. Within the studio we are tasked to construct multiple issues of a publication that mutates with each new instalment.

“tinfoil" was created in response to the significant surge in conspiracy theories, driven by recent events such as the election of Donald Trump, and the COVID-19 pandemic. This new era of misinformation, idiocy, and societal distrust profoundly influenced the nature of this publication. The fundamental concept behind "tinfoil" is to satirize and ridicule conspiracies and myths, using humour to highlight the often-unfounded basis of many conspiracy theories and promote critical thinking. Through satire and irony, "tinfoil" effectively exposes the absurdity of certain beliefs and narratives, serving as a reminder that not everything we encounter should be accepted at face value.
